WMDC Beta 3 for Vista publicly available

Finally if you have been waiting for WMDC to sync up your Mobile, you don't need to use the hack I had posted - instead can use Beta 3 of WMDC that is now publicly available. This works on RC1 onwards - I have tried it on Builds 54xx and also now on RC2 (build 5744) and it works fine. If you have the internal dogfood build installed, this will detect that and update it. And you get support for Windows Mobile 2003 as well!

I am able to sync files and notes, but cannot sync mail, calendar or contacts. Vista build 5744, Office 2007 beta refresh, iPaq RX3315 (2003SE). When I open WMDC and go to configure settings it tells me that Outlook has not been configured yet.

Richard, did you try and reset the device and then try again? Of course back up your data before you reset it.

I've just installed the WMDC Beta on Windows Vista RC2 and it's not working. I had tried the work-around last week but had problems which I attributed to the fact I've got a WM2003 device (It's a iPaq 2215).

Now, the same error happens even though I've removed the WHOS registry listing and have rebooted a few times. Even did uninstall/reinstall.

Have done a soft reset with the stylus in the back of the iPaq method.

Anyone else having this issue? If so, did you fix it?

Thanks,

Chris
